Hazel Louise Sanders died following a brief battle with cancer in her Red Bluff home Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at age 79.
Born Aug. 7, 1923, in Hinton, Okla., Mrs. Sanders resided in Woodland for more than 43 years.
Survivors include her son, Tom Sanders and his wife Ernestine of Corning; daughters, Karen Lindberg and her husband Dennis of Chico, and Debby Vandervort of Monterey; companion Richard Royce; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Josie (Tony) Florine Shelton of Galt; nieces Glenda Gordon, RayeAnn Lindersmith and Becky Cochran and their families; and nephew, Larry Hinson and his wife Alice of Las Vegas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Clifford Sanders, in 1982; and grandson Troy Sanders.
The family requests memorials be directed to Saint Elizabeth's Hospice of Red Bluff. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Flowers of Red Bluff.
Services: Graveside services for friends and family is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, (her 80th birthday), at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland.
