Donald Jack Sanders, 81, resident of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away, Friday, June 16, 2023 in Oklahoma City.

He was born December 28, 1941, in Richmond, California to Jack Coy Sanders and Doris Loudell (Atteberry) Sanders.

Donald married Glynna (Jones) on August 11, 1962, in Atoka, Oklahoma.

Donald grew up in Atoka, graduating from Atoka High School and then attended the University of Oklahoma receiving a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He worked for the Corps of Engineers, retiring after 35 years of service. After retirement, he worked for the City of Broken Arrow for 8 years. He and his family had made their home in Broken Arrow for 28 years, and then they lived in Tecumseh for the last 12 years.

Donald enjoyed hunting and fishing from a young age. He has spent his time raising cattle, woodworking, gardening, reading, and doing some traveling.

Special memories were enjoying his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting activities, and all OU sports, especially Football and The Oklahoma City Thunder.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kay Sanders; his in-laws Glen and Lois Jones; son David Wayne Sanders; grandsons, Landon Grey Jones and Garrett Reece Jones.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Glynna Sanders of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Glendon Sanders and Diana of McBee, S.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Jones and Russell of Tecumseh; grandchildren, Shelby Dinsmore and Logan, Leslie Bohler and Jordan, Trenton Sanders, Jessica Jones, Amber Jones, Colby Jones; great granddaughter, Poppy Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Glendon Sanders officiating, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
