Guy was born in Oklahoma, living in Arkansas and New Mexico prior to settling in Shafter, CA in 1946.
Guy worked hard as a plumber, owning and operating Popular Plumbing from 1956-1965. He was a member of Local 409 for over 50 years.
Guy is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Sammons in October 2000.
He is survived by his sister, Margie Slagle of AZ.
His greatest joy in life was his large family of nine children, sons, Ted, Kalvin and Sheldon Sammons, and daughters, Sharren Berlingeri, Connie Molennor, Heidi Sparling, Mellonie McLeod, Thetis Sammons and Shonna Joseph. He leaves 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Hillcrest Park & Mortuary on Saturday, July 9, at 1:00 p.m.
The family would like to thank the staff of California Care and Evergreen Bakersfield for their years of attentive care as Guy battled Parkinson's and cancer. A special heart-felt thank you is extended to Hoffmann Hospice's staff, Steve, Laura, Jack, Frances, Rosalva and Janice for their loving and supportive care of the entire family.
