Madeline Salter, age 87, passed away of dementia at her daughter's house in Lawton, OK on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.
Her body was donated to the United Tissue Network in Norman, OK for medical research and education. Burial will be at a later date in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker, GA. She will be laid to rest next to her husband of 63 years.
Esther Madeline Davis was born on December 6, 1929 in Dublin, GA to George Barney Davis and Esther Robena Butler Davis. She graduated from Dublin High School. She married the love of her life, Hershel Salter on April 6, 1947. She kept books for several companies throughout the years. Her last job was as President of Spalding & Company.
She was a member of Tucker First United Methodist Church where she played the bells. She loved going to church until her health no longer allowed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Salter, her parents, her brother Eugene Davis and sister Georgie McClanahan.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Michael Dooley, and grandson, Kevin, all of Lawton, OK, her brother and sister-in-law Weldon and Anne Davis of Rome, GA, and many loved nieces and nephews.
She loved her family with all her heart and she lived her life knowing that all of her blessings came from God.
