Lindsey Lee Salisbury

Lindsey Lee Salisbury
July 07, 1939 ~ August 16, 2017

Lindsey Lee Salisbury, 78, of Camargo, Ok. passed from this life August 16, 2017. He was born July 7, 1939 in Chino, California to Pete and Mabel Evans Salisbury. When he was 3 years old the family moved back to Oklahoma, establishing their home near Camargo. Lindsey attended grade school and high school at Camargo and continued his education by attending Panhandle State University.

In 1960, he joined the Army Reserves serving 2 years and from 1963 to 1977 he worked in law enforcement serving as the Dewey County Sheriff.

On May 2, 1978, he married Nancy Lee Chappell in Woodward, Ok. and the couple made their home near Camargo.

Lindsey began his own business, Salisbury Dozer Service, and did everything from building farm ponds and grading roads to oilfield locations and rig-ups. When he was not operating heavy equipment, he enjoyed taking care of his cattle and declaring war on the cedar trees and weeds. Fishing was a favorite way to spend a day and storytelling with his family and friends was always done with a twinkle in his eye.

He was preceded in death by his parents and twin sons, Shawn Lee and Shane Dee.

Lindsey is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee, his children Amy Louise Duncan and husband Scot, Joe Allen Salisbury and wife Amy, Kim Lee Salisbury and Clayton Onckelet and Ben Earnest Salisbury. Three grandsons, Hunter Hyatt, Brigzton Salisbury and Corbin Oats. Two brothers, Bill and wife Terri and Russ and wife Kay, other family and a host of friends.

Memorials may be made to the Dewey County Sheriff Department for Weapons in care of Shaw Funeral Home.
