Francisco "Frankie" Duran Salas, Lawton, was born August 20, 1948 in Tacoma, Washington. He passed away peacefully on August 30, 2017 at the age of 69. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 11:00am in the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel.
After graduating high school , Francisco enlisted in the United States Army where he served in Vietnam. He was a proud soldier and loved his country. After his honorable discharge from the Army he worked at the Lawton Constitution, civil service, Goodyear and Kmart. He never met a stranger and enjoyed talking and visiting with anyone. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and having fun at Wanda's Club. In his free time Frankie enjoyed traveling, especially to Germany and to Nebraska to visit his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was important to him, especially the kids. Frankie was also known as an awesome photographer and had his camera wherever he went. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Francisco M Salas; mother, Margarita D. Salas; brother, Ernie; and 3 sisters, Margie, Linda, and Delores.
Survivors include his wife, Ingrid; son, Ernie Salas; step-daughter, Ramona Riblett and husband Lonnie; step-son, Darrel Sanderson and friend, Jackie Prince; grandchildren: Christina LeFevre and husband Craig; Ashley "Wewa" Murphy and boyfriend Allan Beatty; Laurie "Little Miss Riblett" Riblett and boyfriend Derek Fulmer; great-grandchildren: Alexa "Little Wewa" Ward; Bentley Riblett; Arianna Fulmer; Ezra LeFevre; brothers, Hank Salas; Ricky Salas; Johnny Salas; Mickey Salas; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends
