Danny Alvin Rylant was born August 15, 1952 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Alvin Henry and Mary Margaret Rylant. He passed away March 8, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 65 years, 6 months and 21 days.
Danny grew up in Elk City where he attended school and was an active member of the football team. He graduated from high school in 1971 and later in May of 1972 he was drafted into the United States Army. Danny began his basic training in Leonardwood, Missouri and continued his AIT training in Huntsville, Alabama. He was transferred to Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he was an instructor for the TOW missile. After his discharge in 1974 he returned to Elk City where he began his career in the oil field and raised his children. Danny continued in the oil field until the downturn of the industry in the early 2000's when he retired. Danny had a strong faith in the Lord and also enjoyed fishing, watching the University of Oklahoma football and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death his parents and his youngest sister, Debra McMenamy.
He is survived by 4 children, Corey Bell, Bobby Rylant, Miranda Cummings and Derek Rylant all of Elk City, OK; 8 grandchildren; 1 sister, Dianna Laflamme and husband, James, Paradise, California and a host of other relatives and friends.
