Thomas Edwin Ryan, 79, was born on March 2, 1942, to Leola Lillian LaBrue
Ryan and Orville Ryan in Anthony, KS. He passed away on October 3, 2021,
after living with ALS for five years.
He was a graduate of Pond Creek High School and Northern Oklahoma College. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1962 to 1968. Tom was a retired Postal Inspector. He kept busy with his many hobbies: surf-fishing, biking, snow-skiing, wood-working, mechanics, statistician for his boy's swim teams and years of RV travels with his wife Karen.
His childhood was spent in Kansas, North Dakota, and Oklahoma. His professional years were spent in Kansas, Louisiana, and Virginia before retiring to Lake Hudson in Pryor, OK.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Karen Melott Ryan; his son Adam Ryan (Jamie), Rainbow, CA; daughter-in-law Pavlina Ryan, Alexandria, VA; Nicole Hill (Kaileau's mother), Los Angeles, CA; plus, grandchildren Kaileau, Ember, Thoren and Natalie. He is also survived by his sister Linda Ryan Wilson; brother Terry Ryan (Barbara), of Pond Creek, OK; half-brother Rusty Ryan, Anthony, KS; half-sister Orvetta Quinsberry; half-brother Stewart Ryan; as well as many in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Leola Ryan, father Orville Ryan, brother Victor Ryan and his son Aaron T. Ryan.
At Tom's request, there will be a private memorial service at a later date. He asked to be cremated and his ashes scattered at the Outer Banks, N.C., and Copper Mountain, CO.
