In honor and loving memory of our daughter, Kelly Anne Taylor Merlin Ryan, who passed from her home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to her eternal home with the Lord on May 21, 2021. Kelly was born June 24, 1976, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She graduated from Chisholm High School in Enid, Oklahoma, in 1994.
Kelly was gifted and talented in many areas. She loved music and sang in many venues and often a cappella. As a violinist, she exceeded her private instructors limit. In athletics, Kelly was named one of the top natural athletes in the area, as a defensive guard she held multiple awards during her senior year, including Basketball MVP of the Kingfisher Tournament, and was named to the Wheat Capitol and 89er Conference teams, Enid Sports Festival basketball game and Northwest All-Star game, playing her final game as an Oklahoma All-Stater. Kelly was also a Chisholm Softball All-Star second baseman. Academically, Kelly excelled equally as well.
However, none of these achievements could outshine her compassionate, loving, and giving heart that drew others to her. She loved little children and in photos of most family gatherings she's with the little ones or holding one. Kelly began her career as a paralegal in Woodward, Oklahoma, and continued over the years with law firms in Texas, Maine, and New Mexico.
Kelly was preceded in death by her dad, Kelly Mark Brown, her "Papa" John Taylor, great-grandmother, Mable Francis Hackleman (affectionately known as Mimi); Bill and Betty Jo Ledlow, William W. and Maxine Turnham, and her uncle Barney Lee Turnham.
She is survived by her parents, Steve and Lori Taylor of Woodward, Oklahoma; her sister Dianne Gilchrist and her son, K.J. Gilchrist, of Santa Fe, New Mexico; her grandmother, Sue Taylor, (affectionately known as Nanny) of Enid, Oklahoma; her aunts, Jamie Hartney of Longmont, CO, Jean Russell and her husband, Steve, Teresa Lowe and her husband Randy, of Texas; and numerous other family members and friends who will miss her.
A private Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
