Curtis Ryan passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the age of 67.
Curtis was born on April 13, 1954 in Greenville, SC to Delbert Lee and Nola Joyce (Kughn) Ryan. He was born into a military family and attended schools in various locations stateside and overseas, and graduated from Minot High School in North Dakota. He met Louella Fugate at a spring concert in Nicoma Park, OK and on June 19th, 1974, they married. They raised five children, Shila, Greg, Delbert, Jasmin, and Trenton.
His first job was at Temptrol in Kingfisher, OK. Most of his career was spent as an equipment operator and he retired from Jindal Films in Shawnee, OK.
Curtis was a lifelong biker and loved the open road and riding with the Faith Riders motorcycle ministry at FBC Newalla. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family, especially his Dad, sons, brother, brothers-in-law and uncles. The “guys” also had some great adventures playing golf. Ask about the golf cart in the pond! He was always on the hunt for antiques and spent many weekends antiquing and bringing home rusty “treasures”. He was an avid Stephen King fan and had close to a complete collection of his books. He cherished traveling and making memories with his family visiting such places as Fort Worth, San Antonio and Grand Lake. He enjoyed watching Nascar and was a follower of Matt Kenseth’s career. He valued the company of the friends he made at Dixie’s Diner in Nicoma Park and spoke of them fondly. He ended every meal with a piece of their coconut cream pie.
Curtis was preceded in death by his father, Delbert, and his mother, Nola. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Louella, his daughter Shila Webb and husband Paul, son Greg Ryan and wife Debbie, son Delbert Ryan, daughter Jasmin Ryan, and son Trenton Ryan.
