Zella Faye Russell, 93, passed away Sunday evening, January 15, 2023 at the Heritage Community Manor in Guymon.
The daughter of Deward Bates and Gladys (Hammock) Bates-Collins, Zella Faye was born March 18, 1929 at Catsby, Oklahoma.
Zella and Cecil Russell were united in marriage on April 9, 1959 in Perryton, Texas. They made their home in Perryton and ran the Kitty K9 Kennel as well as H&R Block Tax Service and Russell Bookkeeping for over 35 years. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1982.
Zella moved to Guymon, OK as her health declined to live with her daughter and son-in law. She loved her family, she loved working, and she loved to enjoy life.
In addition to her husband, Cecil, she was preceded in death by her parents and her step-father George Collins; her sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Louis Lanier; her step-daughter and son-in-law Star and Charles Latimer; her son and daughter -in-law, Harold Spady, Jr. and Mildred Spady; her son-in-law David L. Tidwell; and her daughter-in-law Bobbie Russell.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Tidwell of Guymon, OK; her step-son, Rick Russell of Amarillo, TX; her grandchildren: Russ and Debbie Tidwell of Garden City, KS, Brian Tidwell of Radcliff, KY, Chad and Jennifer Russell of Dallas, TX, Bradey and Tina Russell of Amarillo, TX, Ryan Latimer of Nashville, TN, and Stormie and Lawrence Hill of Gatlinberg, TN; nieces, Paula and Bob Hanger of Yukon, OK, and Sondra Lanier of Ft. Worth, TX. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon, January 20th at 2:00 p.m. at the Ochiltree County Cemetery south of Perryton with her grandson, Russ Tidwell officiating.
