Christopher Alvin Russell, 49, of Blanchard, died Sunday, October 20, 2024, at his home. The son of Alvin Clyde Russell and Marilyn Russell Rowland, Chris was born December 19, 1974, in Marshall, Texas.
Chris was Baptist in faith. He worked as a blackjack dealer at Riverwind Casino for 16 years until his health no longer allowed. He loved his job and took great pride in it. He was most proud of his role as a father. Some of his best times were spent with his daughter. In his spare time, Chris enjoyed hanging out with his friends, playing pool, and singing and listening to music, especially hip-hop, rap, and R&B. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Andy Russell; and his grandparents, Charles and Pearl Farnham, and Euel Clyde and Stella Russell.
Chris is survived by his daughter, Marie Russell of South Carolina; his son, Isaiah Russell of Texas; his mother, Marilyn Rowland of Blanchard; his sister, Lisa Proffer of Blanchard; and many other loved ones and friends.
A viewing for family and friends will be from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard.
Graveside service and burial will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 25, 2024, in the Colonial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall, Texas under the direction of Downs Funeral Home of Marshall, Texas.
