James C. Rushing, a resident of Calera, Oklahoma passed from this life in Durant, Oklahoma on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the age of 69 years 4 months and 20 days. He was born in Dubach, Louisiana to James Monroe and Mary Edna (Branch) Rushing on September 18, 1947. James married Gayle House in Reno, Nevada on February 14, 1997.
James served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a construction worker by trade employed by Rushing Paving. He loved gardening, and watching sports. James was dearly loved by all of his family.
Mr. Rushing is survived by his wife, Gayle Rushing of the home; son, John Rushing and wife Michelle of Nursery, Texas; granddaughters, Kirra and Alyssa Rushing and Destiny Daniel; step-daughter and family, Melissa, Mark, Josh and Ashlyn Carnley of all of Sanger, Texas; brothers, Joe Rushing and wife Beverly of Pottsboro, Texas and Robert Rushing and wife Sylvia of Pottsboro, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
As per Mr. Rushing’s request there will be no services at this time. Family and friends may send online condolences and view tributes at www.holmescoffeymurray.com .
