Lonnie Robert Rule, 67, passed away at his home near Friona, Texas last Thursday, August 8, 1946 shorly after midnight, following an illness of a year.
Funeral rites were conducted at the Pentecostal church in Friona Saturday with the Rev. E. E. Havlettle, pastor, conducting the services.
Burial was in Friona cemetery under direction of E. E. Block Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.
Mr. Rule was born an Pinckneyville, Illinois on May 16, 1879. He came to Oklahoma in 1903 from Pinckneyville.
He was married on July 7, 1904 to Myrtle Bell Henson at Cheyenne, Oklahoma.
To this union were born twelve children, two of whom preceded him in death, William and Helen.
He is survived by his wife and seven sons, Sam of Bovina, Texas; Bob and Dale of Raymondville, Texas; Raleigh, Buford, Bennie and Jim of Friona, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Avis Wilkerson of Bovina, Texas; Mrs. Zoy Deed Blakemore of Sunnerfield, Texas; Mrs. Myrtle Deato of Friona, Texas; eleven grandchildren; one brother, Billie Rule of Michigan; and four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Heller, Mrs. W. G. Maxwell, Mrs. Belle Johnson, all of Pinckneyville, Illinois; as well as Mrs. Matt Herndon of Alton, Illinois; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He moved to Texas from Oklahoma in 1928.
He lived all that time in Friona, except two years he spent in Chehalis, Washington.
All of his children except Robert were at his bedside at the time he passed away.
