Leroy Rudisell of Tecumseh, OK went home to his Savior, February 27, 2019. He often said that the priorities of his love were God first, then family and then Country. Leroy was born October 5th, 1925 to Roy and Mary Rudisell. He and his sisters were raised by his mom with little to nothing, but she always relied on the Lord to provide and protect which He faithfully did. Leroy received Christ as his personal savior at an early age, and was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Tecumseh, OK.
After attending Hominy High School, he worked to help support his mom. He was drafted at age 19 and served in World War II. His assignments included Infantry Basic Training (Pvt), Rifleman (Pvt), and Light Mortar Crewman (Sgt). Decorations included Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon and 2 Overseas Service Bars.
After his military discharge he met the love of his life. He married Bea Cathey on October 5th, 1947. Thus began 71 years of love. He would often be heard coming up to Bea saying "Have I told you I love you today?" or "I don't think I've had my kiss today." Their favorite song to sing to each other was "You are my sunshine." And they always said "Now I lay me down to sleep" together every night.
