Lois Lee (Bell) Riesland Ruble, daughter of Charles Bundy and Myrtle Huntington Bell, was born August 1, 1926 at Thomas, OK. She passed peacefully from this life on July 18, 2019 at Seiling, OK. A life of 92 years 11 months and 17 days of love, hardships, friendships, challenges and successes well lived. Lois grew up in the Putnam Community attending the Parallel Grade School and High School at Taloga, OK. She graduated with the class of 1942 and began employment at the Dewey County Abstract Office at the age of 16, a career that would span 54 years.
On November 8, 1945 Lois Lee Bell was united in marriage to Melvin Riesland at Woodward, OK. They established their home in Taloga, OK. Three daughters, Mel Jean, Dema Kay and Carol Beth blessed their home. Community involvement and improvement was very important to Lois and Melvin and they were active in school and community activities throughout their marriage. Following the loss of Melvin in 1984, Lois was united in marriage to T.J. Ruble in January of 1987 at Oklahoma City, OK. and she welcomed six stepchildren.
Her special interests included quilting, reading, fishing and watching the college World Series Softball games on TV. She loved traveling and was a member of the Just For Fun Pitch Club. She also enjoyed cooking and holiday dinners were always a special time. She was a helpful friend and neighbor and frequently visited and sat with friends who were ill or hospitalized. Her biggest joy was time spent with her family. She was a loyal supporter of any athletic event, stock show or school or community activity in which her grandkids were involved.
Lois was a lady of strong character and determination, qualities that served her well in her career as well as life. She was a faithful member of the Lenora Methodist Church, attending as long as her health permitted and was active in the UMW organization. She was inducted into the Dewey County Historical Society Hall of Fame in 2011.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Myrtle Bell, her husbands, Melvin Riesland and T.J. Ruble, her sister and brother in law, Betty and Delbert Hundley and a son in law, Ronnie Clark.
Her memory is cherished by her daughters, Mel Jean Weber and husband Mike of Taloga, OK., Dema Kay Ogden and husband Steve of Oakwood, OK. and Carol Beth DeLong and husband Jim of Moore, OK. Seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grands, other relatives and friends. Her keen wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
