JERRY L. Rowland went to be with the Lord on September 20, 2017 at his home in Caddo, Oklahoma.
His unexpected passing leaves a huge gap that cannot be filled in the hearts of all his family. He had a great love and attachment for his son and grandchildren. Words cannot express their loss for their beloved father and grandfather. He will always be loved and deeply missed.
Jerry was born on May 15th, 1947 in Milburn, Oklahoma, the son of H. D. Rowland and Nelda (Colvert) Lenderman. His warm and loving nature and forever playing jokes touched many lives.
Jerry graduated from Caddo High School, in May 1965 and joined the Oklahoma National Guard shortly thereafter. He worked for a short time in Dallas, Texas, Lone Star Gas Company, MK&T Railroad but found his true calling as owner-operator his own trucking company driving coast to coast. Jerry never met a stranger whatever state he was in.
Jerry is survived by son Eric (Brownie) and wife Alesha of Colorado, granddaughter Kristen Blake Rowland of Arkansas, and grandson Jacob Rowland of Colorado. Brothers Byron Rowland and wife Vickie of Richardson, TX, Joe Rowland of Pottsboro, TX, and sister Wanda Horton and husband Michael of Denison, TX. Jerry also leaves numerous nieces and nephews and lots of cousins who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father H. D. Rowland, mother Nelda Rowland Lenderman, sisters Mary Ann Wren, Janell Fields, and Norma McNaughton, brothers A. D. Rowland and Robert Rowland, nephew Lloyd Wren Jr and great-niece Melissa Wren.
Funeral service will be held at Cunningham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Anthony Williams officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Brewer, Byron Rowland, Joe Rowland, Mark Fields, Mack Self, Harley Smith, Michael Horton, and Paul Sherwood.
