Larry Dean Rountree

Larry Dean Rountree
July 23, 1959 ~ January 7, 2018

Larry Rountree of Ponca City, OK. went to be with the Lord on Sunday January 7, 2018, at the age of 58. Larry was born July 23, 1959 to Donald Wayne Rountree, Sr., and Mary (Rhinehart) Fox in Bartlesville, OK.

He worked most of his life in the Grocery Business and recently was the Store Director at Ponca City Discount Foods.  Larry grew up in Bartlesville, OK and was 1977 graduate of Sooner High School and a proud Spartan. He got his start in the grocery business when he was 16 years old at Ray's Thrifty Wise. He worked in the grocery business for over 40 years and was great at it. Larry was a people person and he never knew a stranger. He was a bowler, having bowled multiple perfect games and even an 800 series. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing and going to sporting events. He enjoyed watching the OSU Cowboys and OKC Thunder teams. What he enjoyed most was spending time with family and friends. He was a proud father and grandpa. His grandkids were his whole world. Larry lived life to the fullest and he will be missed dearly. 

Survivors include one daughter: Kelsy Sproul and husband Raymond of Sedan, KS. Three grandchildren: Johnny, David, and Adeline. His mother, Mary Fox and husband John of Bartlesville, OK. His father, Donald Wayne Rountree, Sr. of Bartlesville,OK. One brother, Donald Rountree, Jr. of Lexington, OK. Three sisters: Vicki Starr of Yukon, OK., Julie Fulton and husband Ken of Bartlesville, OK., Becky Sue Fox of Gallatin, Tenn. and four nephews and one niece.

 The family has suggested memorials to the Chautauqua County 4-H Scholarship Fund or Caney River Cowboy Church and those remembrances may be left in care of Stumpff Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Saturday January 13, 2018 at the Stumpff Funeral Home, with Pastor Josh Brown to officiate. Family and friends may send online condolences at www.stumpff.org
