James Paris Rose

October 12, 1947 ~ September 21, 2019

James Paris Rose was born on October 12th, 1947 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to Mary Katherine Harris and James Rose. James grew up and went to school in Middlesboro until the age of 18, and after graduation from high school, then moved to Rockford, Illinois. There, he worked until he was drafted into the United States Army. From Rockford, he went to Fort Campbell, Kentucky for basic training. James went on to have a long and distinguished career in the Army, including 3 combat tours in Vietnam. There, he earned numerous medals and commendations, including 2 Purple Hearts for wounds he received there. He retired as a Sergeant First Class in 1989. After a coupl;e of years of other work, he then began a career of working with the military as a contractor. He wrote lesson plans, student handouts and manuals for various Army Field Artillery weapon systems and used them to teach American Soldiers all over the world and in the United States. In 2014, he retired to his home where he lived and loved to watch was and western mivies, and his beloved Dallas Cowboys.

James Paris Rose, 71, passed away September 21, 2019.

He is survived by his daughter, Melissa; his niece Andrea Daniels Woods and his nephews, Christopher Rose and Roger Wayne Rose.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Ann Rose; his mother and father; and his brothers, Larry Daniels, Roger Rose and Edward Rose.
