Deacie Maxine "Tiny" Rose age 86 of Purcell, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Purcell Care Center after an extended illness.
She was born September 3, 1929 in Paoli, Oklahoma. Maxine was the middle child of three children born to Charles H. Fielder and Ida Ethel (Lynn) Fielder. Maxine grew up a farm girl living in the Wayne Community. As a young girl she learned how to work hard, working in the cotton and broomcorn fields and working on the "Big 5". She attended the Wayne schools graduating with the class of 1947.
A few years later she married Parnell Rose and together they had two children, Kathy and Johnny. Maxine lived in Purcell and raised her children in Purcell. While her children were growing up she worked as a cook at Griffin Memorial Hospital in Norman and attended night school to become a Data Processor. She later started working at Tinker Air Force Base, starting at the bottom and working her way up the professional ladder. She retired in 1986 as an Inventory Specialist after 25 years of dedicated service. Throughout her life, Maxine enjoyed sewing for herself, her children and her grandchildren. She was good at making purses, dresses and quilting. She also enjoyed camping, taking bus tours, going to garage sales and having garage sales. She was an avid reader and she loved working crossword puzzles. Maxine was a faithful Christian and attended the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, Charles and Ida Fielder;
She is survived by: Daughter, Kathy Jennings and husband Loyal of Purcell, Son, Johnny Rose and wife Jackie of Lexington, Sister, Joyce Dean Rinehart of Purcell, Brother, Charles Lavoy Fielder of Wanette, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell.
