Robert Wesley “Wes” Rogers, 52, of Dibble, died Thursday, December 10, 2015, in Norman, Oklahoma. The son of Leonard Rogers and Ruth Ada (Start) Rogers, he was born September 27, 1963, in Lindsay, Oklahoma.
Wes was a member of the Blanchard Church of Christ and served as a deacon for many years. He married Lisa Jane Maynard on October 27, 1984, in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Wes worked for many years as a cabinetmaker. He was a very talented artist and enjoyed sketching, carving pumpkins, watermelons, and squash, and writing songs. He was a very talented wood craftsman and used his talents to build beautiful furniture. He enjoyed sharing his work with others and showcased some of his best pieces at the Oklahoma City Downtown Arts Festival. His greatest enjoyment was his family, especially his grandchildren. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Rogers, and two brothers, Floyd and Richard Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Rogers, of Dibble; one daughter, Keshia Swaim and her husband, Stephen, of Blanchard; one son, Troy Rogers and his wife, Meagan, of Lawton; four grandchildren, Jacy Rogers, Jagger Rogers, Joey Swaim, and Kiercee Swaim; his mother, Ruth Rogers of Dibble; one sister, Linda West, of Minnesota; Tiffani Shepherd and her husband, Kyle, and their son, Luke, of Blanchard, that Wes loved very much and treated like his family; and many other loved ones and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Church of Christ in Blanchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
