Peggy Rogers, a loving wife, mother, grandma and dedicated member of the Jennings community, passed away on April 28, 2024, at her home in Jennings, Oklahoma. Born on January 27, 1960, in West Branch, Michigan, to Jesse and Margarey Lauria, Peggy grew up in Rose City where she began her education later graduating from OGEMAW Heights High School.
Peggy's career at Jennings School began in 2011 as a cafeteria worker before transitioning to a janitorial role and back to the cafeteria. Her dedication and hard work were admirable traits recognized by all who knew her. Outside of work, Peggy's artistic talents shone through in her creations as a baker and artist.
In 1983, Peggy was united in marriage with Raymond Eugene Rogers at Caverly Farm in Michigan. Their love story was marked by Raymond's clever bet that led to their courtship. Together they raised two sons, Charles and Isaac Rogers of Jennings, Oklahoma, and a daughter Rebecca Wiseman and her husband Joshua of Oklahoma City. Peggy's pride and joy were her children.
In addition to her immediate family, Peggy is survived by her siblings Floyd Lauria and wife LeAnn of Owosso, Michigan; Sally Nichols and husband John of Sterling; Jess Lauria and wife Linda of Pinconning, MI; David Lauria and Chris of Roscommon; Jack Lauria and wife Lucille of Hale; Duane Lauria and wife Diane of Whittemore; Mark Lauria and wife Brenda of Chinqapin; appropriated children Reid Spracklin, Dyllon Stafford, Jason Nydam, Dustin Kirby, Bridgett Davis, Lindsey Snow, Tiffany Headrick, James Williams; grandchildren Jakob Wiseman, Peggy Wiseman, Eli Wiseman, appropriated grandchildren Colby (Dobby/Half Nut) Musgrave; as well as numerous other relatives. Peggy was preceded in death by parents Jesse and Margarey Lauria, husband Raymond Rogers, siblings Leslie Lauria, Roger Lauria, Donald R. Lauria and Diane Miller.
Peggy's hobbies included spending quality time with her family, creating blankets and quilts, traveling, cave exploration, swimming, water activities, taking road trips, and engaging in meaningful conversations about her loved ones.
The viewing will be held on Sunday, May 5th at Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM followed by the funeral service on Monday, May 6th at Grace Gospel Church in Jennings at 10:30 AM with Pastor Casey Muse officiating.
Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
