Eula Dean (Smith) Rogers

Eula Dean (Smith) Rogers
December 3, 1936 ~ June 3, 2024

Eula Dean Rogers, known as Dean to her friends and family and beloved Naw Naw to her 3 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024 at the age of 87.

Dean was born in Shawnee, OK on December 3, 1936 to Alvin C. Smith and Ada B. Smith.

She was married to Cleamon Rogers on December 3, 1955; they were married for 65 years. Together they had three children: Jeannie, Beth, and Buddy.

She was fiercely independent and valued a good education. She went back to high school and graduated with the Tecumseh Class of 1972.

In 1971, she began working for the Tecumseh Gas System that later became Oklahoma Natural Gas. She was employed there until her retirement.

Dean was always involved in the education and extra-curriculars of her children. While they were in school; she was a part of the PTA, the Band Boosters, the Athletic Boosters, the 4-H and FFA Boosters, and she was a twirling mom.

She cared deeply that every child should be able to receive a quality education, so she served on the Tecumseh School Board from around 1992 to 2004; handing each of her grandchildren their diplomas.

She was an avid sports fan. Often she’d be found watching any sports team that was playing at the time, but her favorite team was the New York Yankees. She also enjoyed reading books from history and politics to romance and thrillers. Her mind was always going with her sports, a good book, or a word search.

She is preceded in death by her parents Alvin Smith and Ada Smith, her husband Cleamon Rogers, and her daughter Jeannie Stover.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister Glenda Hudson; her daughter Beth Jeffcoat, her son Buddy Rogers; her grandson and his wife Shawn and Dawn Jeffcoat, granddaughter Tiffany Stover, granddaughter and her husband Miranda and Lee McElroy; great grandchildren Braden, Kenzie, Davis, Gage, Jet, Conley, Jensen, Paisley, Trenton, Lily, Bennett, and Logan; and many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. The family will be present from 5:00 PM to 7:00PM to greet friends and family at Cooper Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Sharon Baptist Church in Tecumseh, OK with Danny Wells of Stratford, OK officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

As we say goodbye to our beloved mother and grandmother, we carry forward the love and lessons she gave us. Her legacy lives on in our thoughts and memories.
