Anna May was born September 25, 1921 in Hinton, Oklahoma to Edmond and Anna May Cackler.
She grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Central High, May 25, 1939.
She married Roy R. Rogers, July 4, 1939 and had a son, Roy Richard and a daughter, Sally Anna May.
Mrs. Rogers and her husband, Roy helped start a furniture manufacturing company with her sister, Edylene and brother-in-law, Herman McGill in Cleveland, OK. They moved the business to Hawthorne, CA in November of 1957, and purchased their home in Manhattan Beach in 1958, where she still lived at the time of her passing.
They also helped start the Pacific Baptist Church, in El Segundo in May 1958, where she was a charter member and very active for many years, teaching, church clerk and many committee chairman and friend to all.
She always wanted to do what was right and encouraged others to do the same.
She loved to read and do crossword puzzles.
In January 2006, she went to stay with her daughter, Sally and son-in-law Jack Hulsey due to health problems.
Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her parents Edmond and Anna May Cackler, husband, Roy R. Rogers, son Roy Richard Rogers, daughter-in-law Nancy Jane Rogers, and sister Edylene McGill.
She is survived by daughter Sally and son-in-law Jack Hulsey; six granddaughters, Sharon Meyer and husband Jeff, Karen Allen and husband Dan, Annette Hulsey and Michelle Berryman and husband Allen all of Bakersfield, CA, Connie Rogers of Manhattan Beach and Paula Peerboom of Los Angeles; 13 great grandchildren, Lindsay Berryman, Michael Peerboom, Sarah Peerboom, Christina Allen, Kimberly Berryman, Kyle Hulsey, Caitlyn Allen, Nicholas Peerboom, Megan Berryman, Cody (Hulsey) McMillan, Jason Berryman, Jackson Hulsey and Rachel Berryman; sisters Lucille Israel of Oklahoma City and Bessie Clary of Onyx, CA and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She will always be loved and missed.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Bakersfield Heart Hospital and to Optimal Hospice Care for their love and care.
Graveside services will be held in Inglewood Park Cemetery, 720 E. Florence Blvd, Inglewood, CA, Friday, June 30, at 1:00 p.m.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 29, 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River Blvd.
