Marie Katheren (Quick) Roe was born in Wirt, OK on May 17, 1928 to Floyd S Quick and Clara Grisham Quick. She passed away January 17, 2022 in Stroud, OK at the age of 93.
Marie attended school at Dundee (in Healdton, OK) and Wilson, graduating from Dundee. After attending Oklahoma Baptist University and Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Marie worked for Thompson’s Pontiac and Shell Pipeline, where she was transferred to Cushing, OK.
Marie married Bill Roe of Cushing on October 13, 1956. They made their home in Agra where they raised their 3 children until moving to Bristow in 1994. She was actively involved in the First Baptist Church of Agra and later at Trinity Baptist in Bristow. She volunteered at the Bristow Hospital and served on the election board for several years.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill; two sisters Florence Mossman of Hobbs, NM and Rosa Haines of Odem, TX; and one brother Raymond Quick of South Boston, VA.
She is survived by 3 children Louise and Eldon Gordon of Stroud, Johnny and Shelby Roe of Blanchard and Harold Roe of Franklin, TN; grandchildren Dominique and Joe Hogan of Eaglesville, MO, Brandon Gordon of Stroud, Katie Gordon of OKC, Joshua Roe of OKC, Jonathan Roe of OKC, Jacob and Ciara Roe of Piedmont, Kelbie and Jade Steffen of San Marcos, TX, Hannah Roe of Blanchard and Gracy Roe of Blanchard and great grandchildren Allee Gordon of Chandler, Jaden and Kamren Oldham of Deer Creek, Zoey Roe of Piedmont; sister Wilma Tomlinson of Guymon; brother Wilbert Quick of Ardmore and many nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
There will be a visitation Friday, January 21, 2022 from 6-8pm at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Stroud. A Celebration of Life for Marie will be Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 2:00pm at Agra Public School Gymnasium.
