Jelena Inez Rodriquez, 97 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on September 10, 1925, in Woodville, Oklahoma to the late L. C. Murr and Jewel Davis Murr. Jelena grew up in Woodville where she attended Woodville High School and graduated with the last Woodville High School Class in February 1943 before the opening of Lake Texoma. She worked at Wilson and Company in Oklahoma City from 1943 to 1955. Jelena married Ross Rodriquez on August 21, 1948, in Oklahoma City and he preceded her in death on June 16, 2002. After giving birth to her son Wayne, She began employment at Southwestern Bell in 1957 and retired in 1987. Her husband, Ross retired shortly after, and they enjoyed a retirement together until 1997 when they became grandparents and stepped together into babysitting for the next 5 years. Jelena had worn out many sets of tires traveling from Oklahoma City to Kingston staying close to her parents, along with her brother Raymond Dee and his family.
Jelena is survived by Son Wayne Alan Rodriquez and wife Velena. Grandchild Ross Alan Rodriquez.
Jelena was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother; Raymond D. Murr, 1 sister in-law: Imo Jean Murr and 1 niece: Susan Leslie Murr.
