Funeral service for Hershel Lee Rodgers, 75, Enid, is 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018, in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation with the family is 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018.
He was born May 25, 1943, in Cushing, Oklahoma, to Harold and Amy (Carmichael) Rodgers. He graduated May 18, 1961, from Agra High School, and married Karen Lockhart March 31, 1962 in Checotah, Oklahoma.
Hershel worked for many years in the Union Equity, Farmland, and ADM Grain elevators until he retired in 2006.
In his later years, he enjoyed being in the Corvettes of Enid Club, as well as showing his old tractors. Hershel never met a stranger and could talk for hours. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to spoil his grandchildren and great-grandchildren rotten.
He is survived by his wife Karen, of Enid; children, Sheila Rodgers, Oklahoma City; Kyle (LaTonya), Sapulpa; Denise (Jeff) Treagesser, Henryetta; Tammy (Walter) Synoweicki, Litchfield Park, AZ; grandchildren, including Darla (Austin) Balch, Enid; Colt (Dominique), Kady, Whitney and Jaylee Treagesser; Alyssa and Amanda Synoweicki; "adopted" son and daughter, Jeff and Nikki Clark (Miranda and Melissa); four great-grandchildren; three brothers and four sisters; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and great-granddaughter Evelyn Balch.
