Jerry Ben Robinson, 80 year old Hollis resident and lifelong farmer and rancher of Harmon County, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis.

Jerry was born in Gould, Oklahoma, one of thirteen children, on April 28, 1936 to his parents Earl C. and Sivilla Frances (Roberts) Robinson and graduated class of 1954 from Hollis High School. Jerry served his country in the Oklahoma Army National Guard and received an honorable discharge. Shortly after high school on June 19, 1955 he married the love of his life Mary Ola Hurst at the First United Methodist Church in Hollis and they enjoyed over 60 years of marriage.

Jerry was a successful farmer, rancher, and businessman, and owned many businesses including the Robinson Insurance and Real Estate Agency in Hollis that he opened in 1981. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hollis and was a former member of the Lions Club as well as other organizations. Jerry served on the Board of Directors for the Great Plains National Bank for many years. He stayed active and enjoyed exercising, hunting and fishing, going to the lake, playing golf, and he always enjoyed a good game of dominoes, but most of all, Jerry treasured time with his family and his grandchildren and great granddaughter that he loved so much.

Preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jerry Bart Robinson; four brothers, Earl C.; Carl; Calvin; and Tommy Robinson; and his sister, Queeda Wilson; Jerry is survived by his wife Mary Ola Robinson of the home; one daughter, Deana Robinson of Hollis; his daughter-in-law, Janet Robinson of Gould; seven sisters, Carmelita Eastham of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Linda Driskill and husband T.W. of Oklahoma City; Dr. Mona Sue Tway and husband Dr. John Tway of Dallas; Carolyn Castleman and husband Bill of Colleyville, Texas; Norma Williams of Hardesty, Oklahoma; Glenda Helfrich and husband Dr. Baird Helfrich of Lubbock, Texas; and Brenda Robinson of Phoenix, Arizona; one sister-in-law, Sue Robinson of Hollis; four grandchildren, Lindsey Smith and husband Brent of Edmond; Colby Davidson of Gould; Jessica Robinson of Altus; and Jeremy Robinson of Hollis; one great granddaughter, Kyndall Smith; numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, May 27, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Hollis with Pastor Don Altom officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hollis in memory of Jerry Ben Robinson.

Arrangements are under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis.
