Dan L. Robinson

1926 ~ October 22, 2005

Dan Robinson passed away peacefully on October 22, 2005 after a lengthy illness.

Dan was born in Oklahoma to Daniel and Maude Robinson.

Early in his life his family moved to Arvin, California where he developed lifelong ties with the Arvin community.

He attended Kern County Union High School where he met his wife of 57 years, Dora.

Upon graduation he enlisted in the Navy.

He received his teaching credential and Masters degree from Fresno State. Dan was a teacher then administrator at Arvin, Highland and North High Schools completing 37 years of service for the Kern High School District.

After retirement Dan enjoyed traveling, relaxing at their house in Cambria, and working in his shop.

Dan was a charter member of the local Arvin Exchange Club and served recently as the Regional Vice President for the National Exchange Club. Every 4th of July he enjoyed organizing, promoting and announcing the Arvin Fireworks Show. He will be missed by his many Exchange Club friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Maude Robinson; his two sisters and brother. He is survived by his wife, Dora; his daughters, Janet Vanherweg and husband, John, Linda McVicker and husband, John; son, David Robinson and wife, Laurie; three grandchildren, Keara and Cameron McVicker and Sean Robinson.

Services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., Wednesday, October 26, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be at service time.
