Juanita Robertson age 90, of Purcell, formerly of Norman, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at her home in Purcell.
Myrtle Juanita DeWitt was born July 16, 1924 in Norman, OK. She was 1 of 11 children born to Walter A. DeWitt and Mary Etta (Shields) DeWitt. She grew up east of Noble and attended school there through her senior years. She graduated from Norman High School in 1942, and then attended the University of Oklahoma where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.
For more than 30 years, Juanita worked as a Social Worker for the State of Oklahoma, dedicating the last 15 years working with the special Unit on Aging. She was instrumental in designing and planning nutrition programs for senior citizens across the northwest part of the state.
She married Larry Paul Robertson on November 22, 1977, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Norman, and they made their home in Norman. Throughout her life, Juanita enjoyed traveling. She looked forward to a night out with friends and she was an avid fan of all OU Sports. She was a faithful member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Norman. For the last several years, Larry and Juanita have called Purcell home. Juanita was a wonderful wife and mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: Her daughter, Deanna and Son, James; Parents, Walter and Mary DeWitt and 10 brothers and sisters.
Juanita leaves behind: Her husband, Larry Robertson of the home; Her son, David Lee Nash of Noble; Several grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, March 13, 2015 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell.
