John Lloyd Roberts
December 27, 1946 ~ May 11, 2023

John L. Roberts, age 76, of Enid, passed away May 11, 2023, after a lengthy illness. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

John was born December 27, 1946, to Shelvy and Violet (Hastings) Roberts. He attended Enid High School, graduating with the class of 1964. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1966, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam in the 73rd Engineer Corps as a SP5.

John married Christine Schaffer in 1969, and two sons were born to this union. During the ice storm on January 19, 1993, John married Patricia (Rylant) Grim, and three children were added to the family. John was an over-the-road truck driver until 2016, when ill health prevented him from driving. He worked for CFI, Cryogenics, Great Plains Trucking, Builders Express and Feed the Children Ministries. He enjoyed watching Nascar races, stock car races, WWE Championship Wrestling and going fishing.

John is survived by his wife Patricia; five children, son Raymond Roberts (Misty) of Weatherford, TX, John C. Roberts (Stephanie) of Enid, Timothy Grim (Sheri) of Pond Creek, OK, Travis Grim (Melissa) of Pauls Valley, OK, and Holly Beaver (Allen) of Enid; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as two sisters, Delma Evans (Roger) of Crescent, OK, and Carol Roberts, of Enid, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Sylvia Branham.

Memorial contributions in John's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Awakening the Fire Ministries food pantry, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be made at www.ladusauevans.com.
