Funeral service for Clarence D. Roberts will be 10:30 am , Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Centenary United Methodist Church with Dr. Robert Gorrell, pastor, officiating. Services are under the direction of Whinery Huddleston Funeral Service.
Clarence D. Roberts was born October 20, 1925 in Electra, Texas to Clarence and Helen Roberts. He was committed to serving God and others. CD retired from the Civil Service and was a WWII purple heart recipient. He was a proud member and staple of Centenary United Methodist Church and he volunteered for their Logos’ children program for over 20 years, he regularly supported more than 20 Christian charities and churches and he volunteered with Trinity Baptist church leading worship for Wednesday services at McMahon-Tomlinson until he was 93 years old. Everything was about helping others come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior for CD. He was an avid outdoorsman and gunsmith with amazing marksmanship skills. He was kind, gentle, generous and will truly be missed.
Clarence D. Roberts passed away December 4, 2019 peacefully in his sleep.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ione Roberts; his sister Ardella Johnson and his nephew, Bill Johnson. CD is survived by his niece, Carol Davis; his nephew, Bob Johnson both of Wichita Falls, Texas; his wonderful friend, Allyson Woodside and all his church family whom he loved so.
