Stephanie Yvette Ritchie, loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on November 9, 2020 at the age of 49. She was born on February 5, 1971 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Stephanie graduated from South Garland High School in Garland, Texas in 1989. She attended Oklahoma State University and then the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond and graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Stephanie was a nurse for the last 24 years. She worked as a traveling nurse for Fresenius Kidney Care.
Stephanie enjoyed hiking, especially with her dogs. Over the years her dogs included Sparky, Lucy, Molly, Sally, Macey, Pooky, Abercrombie, Merl, Nancy, Sadie, Smalls, and Bella. Each one of her dogs and the dogs she rescued had a special place in her heart. Stephanie also enjoyed restoring her house, theatre and musicals (especially Hamilton), traveling, skiing, and listening to all kinds of music.
Survivors include her children Ethan Ritchie and wife Michelle Cates of College Station, Texas, Caleb Ritchie of Wichita Falls, Texas, Danielle Grover of Oklahoma City; her children by choice Rilley Cruz of Oklahoma City, Allison McDowell of Edmond, Hannah Hayes of Oklahoma City, Kaitlyn Kellan of Edmond, Austin Morrison of Harrah, and Ian Cunningham of Fort Hood, Texas; sister Tracy Upton of Houston, Texas; adopted parents Martha and Ernest Hernandez; niece Nixon Humpreys; aunt Becky Buckner and husband Dennis. Stephanie is also survived by many beloved friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Crescent First Christian Church with Pastor Chris Humphreys officiating.
Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
