Richard Rippeteau, known as Rick, left us on Monday, December 30, 2024 from Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas, where he was surrounded by family and friends. Rick's last minutes were with his loving wife and daughter, and the caring and compassionate nurses along with his favorite music, Joe Bonamassa.
Rick was born on October 5, 1950 in Long Beach California. Rick served his country in the Army where he received many awards Marksman (M-16 Rifle) Expert (M-16 Rifle) Sharpshooter (M-60 Machine Gun) National Defense Service Medal, Combat badge, Air Medal Service Medal, Two Overseas Bars Medal. Rick attended Central State University out of Edmond, Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s degree in Business. Rick had a few occupations: Computer sales, Real Estate, and was a Security Officer at Winstar Casino which fulfilled his life long dream of being in law enforcement. He was able to retire in 2012. Rick had many hobbies: guns, politics, chess, working the farm, and large family gatherings. Rick was married to Debrah Rippeteau on August 4, 2006 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Rick always said this was best day of his life and also the birth of his daughter, Christine. Rick loved his country, family, and friends, and he fully believed that changes in 2025 will make the country great again.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Rippeteau and Helen (Clark) Rippeteau; a great granddaughter; and brothers David Swanson and Alan Rippeteau.
Survivors include his wife Debrah of 18 years; daughter Christine Hix, sons Cody Brookshear, and Jered Brookshear; sister Rhonda Rieff; grandsons Greg Griggs, Beckett Brookshear, Bennett Brookshear, Andrew Torres and Aiden Brookshear; granddaughter Lindsay Ellis; great-grandson Asher Rodgers and great-granddaughter Iris Christine Ellis.
Funeral services to celebrate Rick’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 4, in Brown’s Funeral Home chapel. Mr. Galen Smith will be the speaker. Ft. Sill Honor Guard will have military honors at the chapel.
