Newkirk, OK - Gilbert Henry Rippe of Newkirk, Oklahoma was born on June 12, 1948 and left this earth for his heavenly home on April 9, 2024. He was 75 years old.

Gilbert was the son of Edwin and Malinda Rippe. He grew up loving the country life and tormenting his little sissy, Joyce. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church Missouri-Synod. While in college, he took the oath to join the Army National Guard and left for boot camp in California. On June 1, 1968, he married Gwenlyn Simmons, the love of his life, and they made their home together east of Newkirk. During their 55 years of marriage, they custom harvested, ranched and had a family, consisting of two children, Denys and Tanner. Gilbert had a passion for horses and cattle.
