Jose "Wally" Rios was born August 24, 1957 in Victoria, Texas to Victoria and Juan Rios. He passed away June 24, 2017 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 59 years, 10 months.
Wally moved with his family to Oklahoma and they lived in Mangum for a time until moving to Elk City in 1973 where he remained the rest of his life. He was employed with Parker Drilling and Cactus Drilling for many years. Wally was known as a dedicated, hard worker and never called in sick a day in his life. He enjoyed fishing and creating wire sculptures, being outside, cooking and spending time with his friends. His favorite time of the year was the Christmas season. He had many decorations and ornaments. Wally especially loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Mary, Modesta Barazza, Avelina Flores, 5 brothers, Rogelio Rios, Juan Rios, Ernesto Rios, Oscar Rios, Raymond Rios.
He is survived by his 2 children, Amanda Thompson and wife, Carla, Houston, TX, Jeffrey Rios and wife, January, Craig, CO; 2 grandchildren, Caleb Thompson, Nickoli Rios, 4 sisters, Molly Herndon, Perryton, TX, Connie Woodard, Elk City, OK, Alicia Izaguirre, Clinton, OK, Becky Ruiz, Oklahoma City, OK, 1 brother, Jesse Rios, Marlow, OK; and a host other relatives and friends.
