Larry V. Ringwald passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 in Oklahoma City. The beloved father & Opa leaves behind his wife, Joyce; children: Shawn Ringwald and Nicole & Jason Smith; grandkids: Nick Lopez, Jennifer Grogan, Sierra Ringwald, & Haley Smith, and great grandkids: Colton Lopez, Landon Grogan, & Makenzie Grogan. He is also survived by his older sister Betty Dickerson.
Larry was born June 6th, 1948 in Plainview, TX. He moved to Nazareth, TX in 1960 where he later met his high school sweetheart, Joyce and they wed February 17, 1968 in Nazareth. They had two children, Shawn & Nicole, both born abroad during Larry’s USAF Career.
Larry & Joyce lived in Texas, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Idaho, England, Italy & Germany during Larry’s Airforce Career. Larry retired in 1988 after 20 years of service from the Air Force as a Technical Sargent in the 3rd Combat Communications Group spending over 10 consecutive years stationed at Tinker AFB. After retiring from the Air Force, Larry started a second career with Varian Medical Systems where he served for an additional 25 years as a Field Service Representative, retiring in 2013.
Larry & Joyce were avid cruisers & enjoyed vacationing with their family and friends.
Larry was a loving Opa to his four grandchildren & three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Coy & Nancy Ringwald; sister Carol Moss; and in-laws: Leonard & Rose Mary Wilhelm
Services will be in Nazareth, Texas on Saturday February 06th, 2021 at
3:00pm at Holy Family Cemetery.
In-lieu of flowers the family request
donations be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital or a charity of your
choice.
