Albert Lee Ring

Albert Lee Ring
April 5, 1936 ~ February 27, 2024

Albert Lee Ring was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on April 5, 1936 to Burt Russell Ring and Opal Mildred (King) Ring. He joined one brother, Jerry, who was four years older than him. Growing up, he lived all over the state of Oklahoma but spent the last two years of his high school career in Stroud, graduating from there in 1954. Shortly after high school Albert joined the Army and served nine years. For the majority of that time he was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. During his time in the Army he also served as the band leader. He had a deep love for music.

He was eventually transferred to Fort Ord, California and joined a jazz band as a trombone player. In 1965 he met Nola Alice Goodson on a blind date. She invited him over for a pot roast and they were inseparable after that. Together, they raised one daughter, Brenda Anne Monett who gave them four grandchildren. After moving to Oklahoma in 1981, Al started working for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority and retired from there in 1995. Years later, Albert worked several years for the Sac and Fox Nation as a security guard. He enjoyed antiquing with Nola, Golfing, Sooner football, his riding mower and there was not a project around the house he could not complete. If you were looking for a good laugh, he had an arsenal of jokes. He also had an ornery streak a mile long!

He spent a blissful 58 years with Nola, who was truly his soul mate. Albert peacefully departed this world February 27, 2024. He is preceded in death by his father Burt Ring, his mother Opal Ring and his grandson Douglas Lee Byrd Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Nola Ring of the home; his daughter Brenda Anne Monett of Stroud, his granddaughter Julia Day and her husband Kevin Day of Stroud; granddaughter Jennifer Arvizu and boyfriend Randy Wright of Stroud; his brother Jerry Ring of Stroud; and four great grandchildren; Luke Day and wife Kailea, Lane Day, Diego Arvizu and Olivia Arvizu.

A private memorial will be held for Albert at a later date. Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.parksbrothers.net. Care services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, OK.
