Jack Manham Riley

March 14, 1922 ~ April 12, 1999

Jack Manham Riley, husband and father of San Angelo passed away at Riverside Nursing Center on April 12, 1999 at the age of 77.

Graveside services were at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens on Thursday April 15, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend A. J. Kennemer officiating. Robert Massie Funeral Home handled arrangements.

The family received visitors at Robert Massie Wednesday, April 14, 1999 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Jack was born March 14, 1922 in Navasota, Texas to Pat and Marietta Riley.

He was the youngest of six children.

He served in the Army during World War II.

He met Bessie Jean Blakley in Missouri after a brief courtship they eloped to Tunica, Mississippi and were married on October 5, 1947.

They lived in east Texas until 1955 when they moved to Carlsbad, Texas. Then in 1965 they moved to San Angelo.

He worked for the T.B. Hospital and then the San Angelo National Bank until his retirement in 1984.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting and being with family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Bessie of San Angelo; son Richard of San Angelo; daughter Patricia and husband David Tosney of Crawford, Oklahoma; son Jack Jr. and wife Brenda of Longview, Texas; son John and wife Patsy of San Angelo; and daughter Irene and husband Terry Brown of Austin, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous friends.
