The funeral for Carl L. Riley, 81, of Hutchinson, Kan., was 2 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson. Darryl Peterson, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Fairlawn Burial Park. Military rites were conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
He was born April 22, 1925, in Medford to Thomas William Sr. and Bessie Emmaline Scott Riley and died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, in Hutchinson.
He served in the Army during World War II and Korean War. He married Helena Faye Stanley Jan. 24, 1956, in Blackwell. He worked at Acme Foundry and Smelter Manufacturing, both in Blackwell; Cessna in Hutchinson; and Kansas Jack in McPherson,Kan. After retiring, he worked at Dillon Nature Center. He attended Grace Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife Helena; two sons, Glenn Allen Riley of Hutchinson and John William Riley of McPherson; one sister, Patricia Murry of New Berlin, Wis.; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son and two brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Grace Christian Church.
