Martin Riedl, 76 year old Woodward resident passed away, Tuesday, June 4, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 28, 2024 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. A private family burial will take place at a later time.
Joseph Martin Riedl was born October 14, 1947 to Joseph and Helen (Nicklaus) Riedl in Hoisington, Kansas. Martin grew up and graduated in Hoisington, Kansas. He was united into marriage to Vickie Deines on June 10, 1973 in Galatia, Kansas. The couple made their first home in Hoisington, Kansas. They then moved to La Crosse, Kansas and Pratt, Kansas before settling in Woodward, Oklahoma.
Martin worked as a supervisor in the oilfield. He enjoyed going fishing, playing golf and watching the Chiefs games. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was also a member of the Woodward Elks Lodge.
Martin is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Riedl of the home; one son, Joe Riedl; two daughters, Jennifer Martin and husband Jonathan, Melissa Munson and husband Travis; brother, Bert Riedl and wife Loretta; brother-in-law Brett Sohl; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Martin, Jacob Martin, Mady Munson and Jadyn Munson; and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Joseph Riedl, mother Helen Riedl and sister Sharon Sohl.
