The services celebrating and honoring the life of Nina "Janece" or "MeMe" Ridgway, 70, of Drummond, are pending under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
She was born August 16, 1947 to Julian Purdue and Laura Neihaus in Enid and passed from this life on February 6, 2018 in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Enid, graduating with the Enid High School Class of 1966. She married Verlyn Ridgway in July of 1977 in Enid. The couple moved to Drummond in 1985 where they made their home. She was a second mother to her niece Jennifer and nephew Julian and a grandmother to their children. She worked in several positions in the community including daycares and worked as a dietary aide at St. Mary's Hospital for 23 years. She enjoyed riding horses and always had cats and dogs.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years Verlyn, of the home; two sisters Jeanie Dutton, of Enid and Judy Markes, of San Diego, California; one brother Joe Purdue and wife Sharon, of Raleigh, North Carolina; one step-daughter Natalie and one-step son Jason, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jimmy; and step-daughter, Nicole.

Verlyn Leroy, son of the late Enos Verle "Budd" and Edna Lorene (Hook) Ridgway, was born May 8, 1940, at Alva, and passed away October 3, 2023, at Alva, at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 25 days.
Verlyn grew up in Alva and graduated from Alva High School with the Class of 1958. He excelled at football and received a scholarship to play college football at Northern Oklahoma College at Tonkawa where he earned an associate's degree. On May 13, 1960, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Holt. They had three children, Natalie, Nicole and Jason.
He was a member of the Alva Friends Church and was an accomplished woodworker, making many pieces of furniture and wall art for his home and family. He was a U.S. postal mail carrier in Alva and later transferred to Enid until his retirement after 40 years of service. He received many awards from the post office such as the safest driver and "one million miles walked." On July 6, 1977, he married Janece Dutton at Enid. They purchased a farm near Drummond where they made their home until Janece's passing in 2018. Verlyn moved back to Enid to Golden Oaks until recently moving to the Homestead in Alva to be near his children.
Besides his parents, Enos "Budd" Ridgway and Edna Cattin, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janece; a daughter, Nicole Feese; a brother, Mickey Cattin; and a sister, Janette Ridgway
He is survived by his daughter Natalie Miller and husband Greg, his son Jason Ridgway and their mother Charlotte Edwards, all of Alva; three grandchildren, Dana Craven and husband Matt (of Springhill, Florida), Tara Miller of Alva, and Justin Feese and wife Mandi of Bixby; five great-grandchildren, Abbigale Hall of Alva, Casey Sander of Mutual, and Kaidence, Isaac and Collison Feese (all of Bixby); nephew Lynn Dutton and wife Colleen and their children (of Enid), and niece Jennifer Toney and husband Chris and their children (of Choctaw).
Also surviving are three brothers, Randy Ridgway and wife Ella of Enid, Lynn Ridgway and wife Julie of Edmond, and Merle Ridgway and wife Diann of Alva; four sisters, Deanna Jackson and husband Gene of Alva, Bobbie Jene Powers of Alva, Jerri Cattin, and Billie Cattin; good friend and neighbor at Golden Oaks, Ralph Mitten of Enid; other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the charity of your choice.
