Barbara Lee (Larson) Rickords
February 8, 1935 ~ March 27, 2026

Barbara Lee Rickords, 91, of Ponca City, OK, passed away at home on Friday, March 27, 2026. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Central Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.

Barbara was born on Friday, February 8, 1935, in North Platte, NE, to Raymond and Bessie (Rader) Larson. She began her education at country schools in North Platte, before her family moved to Marquette, NE. She finished her last two years of school, and graduated from Central City High School. She married Walter Rusterholz, Jr. in 1952, then married Norman Rickords in 1972. Barbra worked as a secretary, becoming an Executive Secretary in Indiana, Georgia, and Colorado, before settling in Ponca City, where she was employed by Ponca City Savings (Frontier Federal Savings and Loan) until her retirement in 1987.

Barbara's greatest love was working side-by-side with her husband, Norman, and their son, Steve. They raised hogs, cattle, and Quarter Horses. She was active in showing her horses. She and her husband enjoyed trail riding in several different states. They were also active members of the Ponca City FFA and Ponca Trailblazer's Saddle Club. She loved her Lord and Savior, and enjoyed Bible study groups. She attended Central Baptist Church.

Her twin grandchildren were a true gift of love and enjoyment. They spent their summers on the farm. She cherished her family, nieces, nephews, and her many, dear friends. She loved all animals, especially her horses and dogs. Very dear to her heart, are special neighbors, J.D. and Jenni Gibson, and Mike and Cheryl Burge.

Barbara is survived by: her son, Steve Rickords of Bradyville, TN; granddaughters, Selena Rickords of Colorado; great-grandchildren, Emma and Ethan Parker of Colorado; sister, Mary Ann Guilford of Hampton, NE; sister-in-law, Maraldine Larson of Aurora, NE; nieces, nephews, and their families.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Raymond Larson, Jr, Richard Larson; husbands; and beloved grandson, Seth Rickords.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church or charity of your choice.
