Donna Richter "Grandma", age 66 of Purcell, passed away Monday, December 28, 2015, at the Purcell Municipal Hospital.
Donna Lee York was born March 5, 1949 in Niles, Michigan, the oldest of 3 children born to Donald Leroy York SR and Lena May (Kiste) York. She was raised in Niles and attended school there. On August 25, 1972, Donna married her best friend and true love, Louis Carlton Richter JR. They made their home primarily in Lakeville, Indiana where together they raised 3 children, daughter, Jennifer and sons, Louis III and Michael. Donna dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked for nearly 25 years as a Certified Nurse�s Assistant in area hospitals and nursing homes. After the death of her husband, Donna followed her children to Purcell and has called it home ever since. Family was everything for Donna and she cherished her grandchildren. She loved long drives and fast cars, watching TV, frequent trips to Wal-Mart and spending time at Purcell Senior Citizen Center. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Louis Carlton Richter JR, and Her parents, Donald and Lena York.
Donna leaves behind: Her daughter, Jennifer Wright and husband Tim of Purcell; Sons, Louis Richter III and wife Martha of Purcell and Michael York and wife Kathy of Niles, MI; Sister, Ellen Helt and husband Tim of Buchanan, MI; Brother, Donald York Jr. and wife Mary of Niles, MI; 5 grandchildren, Octavia, Timothy Jr, Bryan, Shadow and Hallee; 1 great granddaughter, Izabelle; Special Cousin, who was raised as a sister/daughter, Lisa Cheney and husband Pat and a host of other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 16, 2015, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel.
