Freda (Lawrence) Richey
August 12, 1934 ~ November 8, 2016

Freda Richey, age 82, resident of Ponca City, passed away November 8, 2016 in Ponca City. A ceremony to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Northeast Baptist Church in Ponca City with Chaplain James Richey, USAF officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Freda was born on August 12, 1934 to Roy John Lawrence and Lois Opal Davis Lawrence in Neelyville, MO. Freda was married to Jerry Stephen Richey on June 12 1955 in Berkeley, CA. In 1972 Freda returned to College and received her degree in Early Childhood education that she then used to create a Daycare Center for the Faimede Christian Missionary and Alliance Church, During her membership there in addition to serving as the daycare's director she served as a Bible Study Fellowship leader, Sunday School Superintendent, VBS director and church board member. Upon her arrival in Ponca City, Freda joined the Newcomers club and Attended Northeast Baptist church.

Freda was preceded in death by a Son Andrew Paul Richey her parents and a brother, Roy J. Lawrence. Survivors include her beloved husband Jerry Richey, cherished children: David Richey and wife Kim of Hayward, CA, James Richey and wife Loree of Ft. Scott AFB, IL, Susan Begley and husband Terry of Ponca city and Sarah Trahan and husband Rusty of Sulphur, LA; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.

Memorial Contributions may be made to: Northeast Baptist Church, 2200 N. Pecan Rd., Ponca City, OK 74604 and will be designated for scholarships to Ponca City Christian Academy.
