Services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 Rover Blvd., for Oscar Norwood "Richie" Richardson, 74, who passed away January 11, 2004. Norwood was born on December 1, 1929, in Duncan, Oklahoma to Oscar and Cebery (Pogue) Richardson. He was raised in Oklahoma until age 16. The family moved to California where he graduated from Kerman High School.
His parents preceded him in death as did a brother, Theo, and two sisters, Naomi and Sarah. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dolphene; two sons, Keith and Glenn, all of Bakersfield; two sisters, Goldie of California and Sylvia of Arkansas; two cousins (by marriage) who he loved as his own, Paula and Hope, both of Bakersfield. He leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
We especially want to thank Dr. Emmanuel Strategos and Hoffman Hospice for making it possible for Norwood to be comfortable while at home the last few weeks of his life.

Visitation begins today, Tuesday, 3 to 9 p.m. Greenlawn Mortuary Funeral Directors.
