Barbara L. Rice, 84 beloved Mother,was called to her eternal resting place on April 6, 2020. She entered this world on November 12, 1935 in Waynoka, OK to Benjamin and Anna Fleming.
Barbara worked as a CNA at numerous Nursing Homes and hospitals in Oklahoma. She was also a waitress at Buffy's Buffett in Ponca City.
She was a lover of animals!! Her favorite pet was a dog named Duke A Roo.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Benny Fleming and David Fleming, one son Charles Bryer, two grandsons Joseph Bryer and Richard Bryer and one great grandson Chance Bryer.
She is survived by her two sons Clifford Bryer and Kenneth (Emma) Bryer all of Ponca City, two granddaughters Diane (James) Ledford of Bixby, OK and Anna Bryer of Ponca City, two grandsons Jeremy (Misty) Bryer of Bartlesville and Danny Bryer of Marland, 8 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Four brothers Sam (Becky) Fleming, Mark (Mable) Fleming all of Okmulgee, James (Jane) Fleming of Ponca City, and Don (Nettie) Fleming of Albuquerque, NM. Three sisters Mary Smith of Morris, Angela (Richard) Carlisle of Okmulgee and Brenda (Roy) Easley of Enid and one sister-in-law Carmen Fleming of Okmulgee and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral or memorial at this time due to the current situation. Visitation is available for Friday, April 10, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. come and go so we can keep the mandate of no more than 10 people in the building at a time. Thank you for your cooperation during this time.
We would like to Thank the staff at Shawn Manor Nursing Home for their kindness and care of our Mother during her stay.
