Edward Lewis Rensch, III
December 19, 1930 ~ June 15, 2019

Edward Lewis Rensch. III passed away on June 15, 2019. He was born December 19, 1930 in Keifer, Oklahoma to Edward Lewis Rensch, II and Eva Reynolds Rensch . On December 21, 1950, he married Lila Lee Pierson in Lyons, Kansas. She preceded him in death in October of 1990. On December 14, 2001, he married Deloris Reist in Elkhart, Kansas.

After graduating from Lyons High School, with an outstanding record in athletics, he attended Hutchinson Junior College. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1953 and afterward attended Wichita State University.

Ed worked for Chancey Tank Service for several years, before beginning his employment with Anadarko Production Company in Elkhart, Kansas where he worked until retirement.

He was active in coaching American Legion Baseball and Little League for several years in Elkhart. Ed was past commander of the American Legion and a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Elkhart. Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife Deloris, two sons Craig Rensch of Odessa, Texas, Brent Rensch and wife Marilyn of Great Bend, Kansas. Grandchildren Jared Rensch (Sharon) of Katy, Texas, Stephanie Rensch of Odessa, Texas, Amber (Jeremy) Brokar, Bel Aire, Kansas and Megan (Jarod) Appelhans of Wichita. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Maddy, Caitlynn, Caden, Audree, Dylan, Emma and Kamryn. Three step-sons, Steve Reist and wife, Terri of Austin, Texas, Jim Reist and wife, Kim of Austin, Texas, Mike Reist and wife, Jennifer of Wichita, Kansas and step son-in-law, Darrell Pucket. Ed is also survived by twelve step-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father Otho Chancey, mother Eva Chancey, sisters Donaleigh Rensch Gilmer and Annette Rensch Kruckenberg, daughter-in-law Karen Rensch and step-daughter Janet Pucket.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the Methodist Church in Canton, Oklahoma with Pastor Daniels Hammans officiating. Burial will be at 4:00 p.m. in Lyons Municipal Cemetery in Lyons, Kansas the same day. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s or Canton Methodist Church with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724.
