Paula Jo (Page) Remington passed away on July 8 in Jane Phillips after an extended illness at the age of 60. Paula was born on October 6, 1951 to Leonard and Mary Elizabeth Page; she was raised and received her education in Pawhuska and graduated from the Huskie Class of 1969. She went to college at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas.
Paula was employed at BlueStem Foundry, Standard Pump, REDA Pump, Bryan-Springer and Littleton CPA Firm, and Gemini Medical Group throughout her employment history.
She married Edwin Wassom "Jr" in 1972; he preceded her in death in 1987. She then married Joe Remington in 1991; they have made their home in the rural community of Okesa throughout their marriage.
Paula was a breast cancer survivor, an accomplishment she was very proud of; this cancer encouraged her and others to stop smoking.
Paula enjoyed spending time with friends and family; helping people however she could; reading, cooking, she was known for having a big heart, and has always enjoyed the small town life of Okesa and her close friends there.
Paula was preceded in death by "Jr" Wassom, father in law Edwin Wassom Sr; her parents Leonard and Mary Elizabeth Page; and her brother J.R. Page; in laws Melvin and Frances Remington.
Paula is survived by husband Joe Remington of the home; son Earl and wife Laurie Wassom of Barnsdall; 3 grandchildren, Kaleb, Luke and Noah Wassom; and mother in law Betty Wassom of Okesa; Step children Michelle, Kevin, Kristi, Tim, Joe and Jennifer Remington along with 30 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service on July 13 at 10:30 a.m. at McCartney's Johnson Funeral Home in Pawhuska, followed by a private family burial.
