Jerry Edward Reed, resident of Blackwell, passed Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Integris Blackwell Regional Hospital. He was 71 years of age.
Jerry was born February 19, 1943 in Fairfax, Oklahoma, the son of Jerry H. Reed and Alice Lorren (Northup) Reed. He attended the rural Ralston, Oklahoma schools. He was married to Karen Donnelly on June 14, 1972 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Jerry had been employed as a trucker. He was a member of the House of Prayer Church in Blackwell. His enjoyments were times spent with family, in earlier years he enjoyed hunting, and in later years watching wrestling and westerns on television. Jerry was lovingly known as a person that could be blunt.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, of the home; three children, Theresa White of McCloud, Oklahoma, Amber Reed McDonald and Kaylyn Reed, both of Blackwell; 1 granddaughter, Jayden Marie Ebert that Jerry and Karen were raising; one brother, Jack Reed and wife Bonnie Sue of Pawhuska, Oklahoma and one sister, Joann Clift and husband Tommy of Riverton, Kansas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Scott Reed; one infant brother, two sisters, Helen Reed Bolander and Betty Reed King; two brothers, Fred Reed and Howard Reed.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 at the House of Prayer Church in Blackwell with Bishop John Jack Presiding
